British record broken!

Theresa's novel PRISONER IN ALCATRAZ was the book selected for a successful attempt to break the British record for the Longest Reading Chain!

219 people, young and old, gathered at Sighthill library in Edinburgh on 19th August, each person in the chain read aloud one sentence from Theresa's book and the record was broken! The event was run in conjunction with Edinburgh International Book Festival.

Theresa will appear at the Milngavie Books Festival on Wednesday 7th September at 11.30am. The event is on the schools programme and is suitable for ages P7.

Award Winning Books

Theresa's first book, Simon's Challenge, won the Young Book Trust Fidler Award for new writers and for Whispers in the Graveyard, her remarkable story about a dyslexic boy, she was awarded the Carnegie Medal.

Remembrance, a tale of youth in World War One, was selected for the American Library Association’s Best Books for Young Adults, and New York Public Library’s Books for the Teen Age.

Divided City, a compelling and courageous story of two boys who must find their own way forward in a world divided by difference, won the Catalyst and the RED book awards and was shortlisted for eight others.
